Supported Living
One of the most important areas of our work is supporting people with disabilities, in their own homes, to be active citizens taking part in local life and achieving their own individual goals and aspirations.
Service Users are supported to access mainstream housing. This is achieved by working in partnership with the Service User, his/her advocate and housing providers. These housing providers will normally be social landlords (such as Housing Associations) and private landlords.
CTRC believes that no matter how disabled you are, you have the right to housing of your choice and can aim to live as independently as possible. You may need support, but your own home is absolutely the best place to receive it. It may be that a CTRC Support Worker lives in your home with you, or a team of 2 – 3 Support Workers provide a service to you on a Rota basis
Whether a Service User is moving from living with family, from hospital or other backgrounds, we will work with them to determine the environment that best suits their needs. We aim to make the transition to independent living to be as easy and stress free as possible.
